Moons and Chakras

Moons and Chakras

So what do moons and Chakras have in common, and why would we want to blend two seemingly unrelated naturally occurring phenomena? The Moon and the Chakras (that form a bridge between spirit and matter) have more in common than we might think.

We would have to look back at Issac Newton who invented the color wheel. He hypothesized that vibrations in the optic nerve convey color stimuli to the brain. Newton claimed that the spectrum was divided into seven colors and, through his study of prisms, described the sequence of the visible light-color spectrum as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Long before Newton, ancient yogis perceived the Chakras as lotus blossoms ranging in color from red to orange, yellow, green, azure blue, indigo, and violet, representing degrees of Chakra energy of physical to spiritual aspects of being within human development. Through these seven primary energy centers, we feel and grow in what it feels like to be human as they literally and symbolically color our life experiences at a vibrational level.

When Newton designed the wheel of color, his discoveries echoed the visions of ancient yogis, particularly as he related color to vibration.

When we look at how the brain perceives colors, it stimulates a vibration through the optic nerve. If we were to visualize the seven-color spectrum as waves hitting the beach, we would be looking at two things: Wavelength and Frequency. It is these two added together that create vibration.

At the red end of the light-color spectrum, we would have low waves and a longer space between each wave’s impact on the beach. At the violet end, we would have high waves hitting the beach at a rapid frequency.

When it comes to the moon, as it moves in its light reflection from new to full every couple of weeks, the actual tides on Earth also move.

On a new moon, we literally have low tides and shallow waves hitting the beach at a slower rate. On a full moon, we have high tides, with large waves hitting the beach at a rapid rate. So this is how the moon and vibrational nature of the Chakras are literally responsive to one another, intricately connected by wavelength and frequency.

So, on a new moon, we also feel more low vibrational root Chakra energy, and on a full moon, we feel more high vibrational crown Chakra energy. Both moon and Chakra energy are tied to the movement of light.

The brighter the moon the bigger the Chakra vibrational wavelength and frequency all humans live under.

Blending Mother Nature’s daily Moon rhythms with natural Chakra alignment brings the connection of mind, body, and spirit into a powerfully wonderful synthesis.
